First off cooking with cannabis is a fun, tasty and can be very rewarding. It does take some experience to get it right but should not be to difficult with practice. If you are new to using cannabis this method can seem pretty intimidating, but it's not as difficult as you might think. In my opinion edibles are the more approachable way to consume cannabis. You can easily consume your cannabis this way without any smell, use of lighters, and the obvious down side - smoking it. Cooking with your cannabis may seem like a lot of work, due to it being time consuming, but it will save your lungs in the end and it's a lot more discreet. Most people tend to think if you want to cook with cannabis you need to be an experienced chef or an experiences cannabis consumer. The way technology is nowadays, you can make delicious cannabis-infused foods very easily. For example, you could try the Sous Vide method, it is the process of cooking vacuum-sealed foods in a temperature-controlled water bath. Sous Vide actually translates to under vacuum, and it turns out is one of the best ways to cook your cannabis edibles. When using this method you will happy to hear it has little to no odor, which is a big bonus for those who are wanting to keep it discreet or who do not like the smell in their home. This has become a popular way to create convenient, high-end quality foods. Now whether you are looking for a safer way to enjoy your cannabis or maybe interesting in learning more ways to consume it, here are some reasons why you should cook with cannabis

1) People have been using cannabis to cook with for many years now. When you are doing research on cannabis in food, you will notice that humans, for centuries, have been eating cannabis. Regardless of what the prohibition has led many to believe, this is definitely not a new trend. To be exact, experts say that humans have been consuming cannabis as a food source for over 10,000 years now. Just take a moment to let that sink in, our ancestors used this many years ago, from dried cannabis brewed into teas to infused spices. Also medicines and smoke blends used by many Native Americans.

2) Cooking with cannabis is the healthiest option when consuming. Cannabis when eaten has excellent sources of vitamins, minerals, and is actually quite high in fiber. If that is something your diet is lacking, this could be the answer. When looked at from the perspective of biochemical composition, raw cannabis leaves and stems are high in Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Iron, Calcium, And Folate. This may come to a bit of a surprise since most people only think about getting high from this plant and do not take into consideration on the heath properties it has. Fresh leaves and buds are a great in smoothies with some of your favorite fruits and veggies, pressed juices, or tossed in a salad. Cannabis will actually keep a lot more of its terpenes when it is not being smoked. Terpenes also have medicinal properties, its know to have anti-fungal, antibacterial. and anti-cancer properties. Cannabidiol has functions as an anti-infammatory, also has links to helping with nausea and vomiting. Raw cannabis definitely has its benefits, especially when it comes to a healthy, wholesome food source. Eating it raw will not get you high but still has its purposes as it is a trending superfood. Another thing I should mention, if you come across some purple colored leaves, make sure you add that to your diet. It contains anthocyanin flavonoids, which is an antioxidant!

3) Visiting family or hosting parties. When you are visiting relatives and know you probably wont have the chance to sneak off and smoke one, you can cook up a batch of something to take along with you. Preferably you want to make something bite size and strong enough that you do not have to constantly eat them through out the visit. This well help with the obvious reason of the smell and the awkward conversation you may not want to have about cannabis with family members. This will also eliminate the time you spend off smoking somewhere. Now when hosting parties or attending them, its a great option to bring edibles because of it being so easy to consume. Also it will not smell up the house and possibly disturb any neighbors or guests that do not enjoy the smell of cannabis. Since this is a party and when there is a party there is usually alcohol, but since you brought edibles there is no worry for any use of lighters or split bong water, since accidents do happen. Overall in my books edibles are a huge win when going out with friends or visiting family, its convenient and safe for everyone around.

4) If you decide to travel by plane, bringing edibles is probably one of the better options since it is allowed and wont stink up the airport as raw cannabis tends to. You are aloud to bring any form of cannabis if traveling within Canada for under 30 days. Just remember there is a maximum limit of cannabis you can obtain while flying, the quantity aloud on board is 150 grams or a months supply. Now if you choose a liquid form of cannabis you will still need to go by the 100ml rule when flying, which is probably less than your monthly supply. When bringing cannabis to an airport, it is suggested that you take it with you on your car-on bag. There are security dogs present at airports and if you choose to keep your medication in a checked bag it can be hazardous, so its suggested you keep your cannabis in your carry-on bag. This is your medication and there is no reason to not keep it on you.

If you bring cannabis with you, one of the most important things you cannot forget is to bring your documentation. Bring your Health Canada Registration Certificate and proof of purchases just in case, it is always to be safe then have issues at the airport and possibly miss your flight. Make sure you keep your medicine in it's original packaging to avoid any extra problems from security officers. When traveling with cannabis you will want to arrive a bit earlier. This process can take a bit of time and you do not want to take the chance of missing your flight. Some people have reported getting through with no problems, but they are usually only getting through security with a few grams on them. If you are taking a reasonable amount, anticipate being pulled aside and asked for documentation. In my opinion bringing edibles is still the most convenient way to fly due to it looking like you are just bringing a snack with you, just try to keep it in a unnoticeable packaging.

Now besides these awesome facts, cooking with cannabis is ultimately fun and brings out your creative side. You can eat cannabis in public or private because nobody will have the slightest clue you are ingesting cannabis, so go enjoy an edible or try out a recipe you've been dying to make. Before indulging make sure you start with low dosages even if you consider yourself a big smoker. Its a completely new thing when you are ingesting cannabis for the first time, so its best to take it easy until you understand the effect it has on you. Try to remember, it is about experimenting and finding something that works best for you.
